The mission of the Hungarian National Museum is to collect, preserve, and present with scholarly methods the past of the peoples who once lived in the Carpathian Basin, as well as the historical heritage of the Hungarian nation from its beginnings to the present day. Our collection, comprising several million objects, includes world-renowned archaeological finds and priceless treasures of Hungarian history and cultural heritage.
