8248 Nemesvámos, Baláca

Hungary's largest Roman villa farm, a unique Roman monument in Central Europe, is located less than 10 km from Veszprém and the shores of Lake Balaton, between the villages of Nemesvámos and Veszprémfajsz.
The well-kept park with its Mediterranean atmosphere is a magnificent example of the grand dwelling house of the owners of the 3-4th century and the surrounding buildings.
The most impressive historical monument of the ruin garden is the central dwelling house, which with its floor area of about 2,400 square metres is one of the largest known Pannonian villa buildings.
The wealth of the former landowners is shown by the mosaic floors and wall paintings, which are rare in Hungary.
The central dwelling and the various farm buildings once covered an area of almost 55 hectares, of which almost two hectares are now open to visitors.
The gardens of the villa farm are laid out in a park-like manner. An exhibition of herbs and spices completes the Mediterranean atmosphere. In the park you can see a Roman sundial and a Roman-style oven.

The park is a perfect place to enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere and the medicinal and medicinal plants.
