Visits with Adult Groups  
General Information  

If you would like to visit the museum with a guided tour, please find our available options here. Details of the booking process can be found further down the page.  

Groups wishing to visit the exhibitions independently are required to register in advance only if the group consists of more than 100 people.

Before your visit, please make sure that all exhibitions you plan to see are open to the public.  

Please note that guided tours may only be conducted by museum staff.  

As the museum building is a protected historic monument, accessibility is limited. If your group includes visitors who require assistance, please consult the Accessibility section of our website in advance.  

The Hungarian National Museum preserves priceless treasures, please help us protect them! Please familiarize yourself with the museum's rules and regulations before your visit.

Booking Guided Tours  

Group size: 1 group (maximum 30 participants)  

Duration: approximately 45–90 minutes, depending on requirements

Booking Procedure  

Please book your guided tour at least one month in advance, if possible.  

Your booking becomes valid only after you have received a confirmation email and replied to it. Please note that only the prices, discounts, and information published on the website and confirmed in the email are valid. Verbal agreements or information cannot be accepted.  

Information Required for Booking  

To make a reservation, please send the following information by email:  

  • Program title:   

  • Language of the tour:    

  • Name of the customer:    

  • Email address and phone number of the group leader:   

  • Name of the institution:    

  • If you require an invoice, please provide the following information in advance: billing name, billing address (if different from mailing address), tax number   

Cancellation and Delays  

Please notify us of any delays as soon as possible. Programs are guaranteed to start with a maximum delay of 20 minutes. In the event of a delay exceeding 20 minutes, the program will be held subject to staff availability. If necessary, a new date may be arranged.  

In case of cancellation, please inform us by phone or email no later than 4:00 p.m. on the day before the scheduled program.
