The discounted entrance tickets were established in accordance with the relevant legislation and under the authority of the Director General.
DISCOUNT TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE ONLY BY SHOWING A PROOF OF ELIGIBILITY AND AN ID CARD OR PASSPORT WITH A PHOTO to the cashier at the time of purchase.
Free admission to our exhibitions
The exhibitions can be visited without charge for citizens of Hungary or of another EEA (European Economic Area) country by:
- Children under 6 years old
- Adults over the age of 70
- Persons with disabilities (+1 person accompanying them)
- Holders of a professional pass issued by the KIM
- Members of a national professional organisation for public collections with a membership of at least 400
- Members of a professional organisation for public collections with a national scope
- Teachers working in public education (with a teacher's certificate)
- 20 August, 23 October all visitors
- Journalists (with valid ID card)
- Places - Ages - Museums - Museum Card holders
- Budapest Card holders - The Budapest Card is only valid for permanent exhibitions, with a 20% discount on temporary exhibitions.
The permanent exhibitions of the Hungarian National Museum can be visited free of charge on the third Saturday of every month by citizens of Hungary or another EEA (European Economic Area) country, in the following cases:
- Persons under 26 years of age;
- One or two parents or close relatives accompanying at least two persons under 18 years of age (for Hungarian and EEA citizens aged 6–26).
