TIPS FOR VISITING THE MUSEUM WITH CHILDREN

  • Prepare children in advance.
Talk to them about what a museum is, what they can see there, and what rules apply during a museum visit.
  • For organised group visits or sessions, it is helpful to inform students beforehand about what to expect.
Our museum education programmes are based on interactive methods that focus on students’ observations and opinions rather than on prior subject knowledge. Sessions may include group work, discussions, role play, or the supervised use of replica objects (e.g. weapons).
  • For independent visits, it is advisable to select a specific theme, exhibition, or limited time period to focus on.
Guide students’ attention by assigning tasks appropriate to their age, abilities, and interests.
Tip: If students are interested in sports or other hobbies, encourage them to look for objects, images, or stories related to those themes in the exhibition.
  • Free worksheets and teaching aids are available for download on our website.
You may also use self-prepared worksheets; however, please bring a clipboard, as writing on display cases is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.

We wish you a pleasant and enjoyable visit to the museum.
