From 1 April to 31 October, groups are welcome in our archaeological park!

And from 1 November to 31 March, you can take part in an out-of-hours class through our "The Villa Goes Home" programme!

Museum Education Class

This class will introduce you to the Roman way of life through artefacts and a Roman mill game. Topics include the life of legionaries, Roman fashion and feasting. During the lesson, there will be opportunities to dress up and re-enact Roman customs. We will also weave in Balacan history into the session.

Age range: Grades 1-12

Duration: Approx. 45 minutes

(From 1 November 2024 to 31 March 2025, the session is also available as part of our "Villa Goes Home" programme.)

Dramatic education in the Lapidarium

The stone structure allows up to 3 sessions to be held in parallel or separately. The sessions use a variety of games to help children overcome the idea that "it's just stones" and that the museum is boring, while bringing the Roman relics on display to life.

Ages: 4-6.

Duration: Approx. 45 minutes

Times: During opening hours, by appointment

Art (craft) session

Our sessions include the creation of authentic handicraft objects. We offer the following objects: mural detail on plaster disc, amulet from copper sheet, legionary shield from cardboard, Roman blistered glass cup with mini-mosaics, fibula from beads, military phalarae from copper sheets, mill toy from felt

Ages offered: Kindergarten / 1-12th grade.
