The Museum Affairs Archive preserves the records of the former Central Museum Directorate. The directorate collected documentation relating to the activities of museums throughout the country, including statistical data, annual work plans and activity reports, professional supervision reports, and exhibition documentation (thematic plans, scripts, and public education materials). The collection ceased to expand in the 1990s. Its material is currently undergoing processing and arrangement and is therefore only partially accessible for research. In addition, the collection includes the records of the Hungarian branches of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), the Pulszky Society, and the Hungarian Society for Archaeology and Art History (MRMT).
